MORE ABOUT ANGIE

Scotland wedding ceremonyI was ordained in August 2004 and have been offering ceremony and support to people ever since - I'm a Minister full time as I hold funerals for people as well as weddings, namings and other ceremony. Every day, every week, every year is different and I never know what's next on my agenda. I work with a five year diary and understand the need to book ahead for a special occasion.

Nothing brings me greater joy than holding ceremony for people, and I've found that what we offer as Interfaith Ministers can really bring an occasion alive with joy and depth.

In 2008 a series of synchronicities led my path to cross with Gino Meriano of Pink Weddings and the Gay Wedding Shows in Cardiff, Manchester and Brighton. I was inspired by Gino and the humanitarian work he does in the UK and around the world and felt that as Interfaith Ministers we needed to let the gay community know we're here in support of Gay Rights and Gay Marriage. To cut a long story short, this website was born to support both our presence at the Gay Wedding Shows as well as to make us more widely known and accessible to the gay community.

Lesbian bridesAt the Brighton show I held a real ceremony as part of the exhibition programme - a vow renewal for my friends and fellow ministers Jan and Ali who had their Civil Partnership Signing and Wedding Ceremony in 2007. People watching who didn't know me or Jan or Ali were moved to tears - and that's what we do - we create a sacred space for grace or love or God to touch all those present.

I love that we don't have any restrictions on what we can offer - we offer ceremony with religious or spiritual elements included if people wish, and we make ceremony very personal.

Interfaith Minister FindhornIt's always a great privilege to be invited to be part of a gathering whatever the occasion - whether celebrating the love of a couple, welcoming a child into the world with a blessing or naming, or helping to send a loved one on their way wherever it is we go to when we leave our physical bodies.

Most of my work personally is between Inverness and Aberdeen, especially for funerals and namings, but I'm happy to travel when invited to do so.

I've been asked to do all sorts of other ceremonies too - a re-naming, several divorce or separation ceremonies, a family blessing, a land blessing, a house blessing, a pre-birth blessing, a pre-wedding blessing, a letting go after a miscarriage, a vow renewal, a betrothal. People don't always realise the power of having some kind of ritual or ceremony and how helpful it can be for change and transformation, or acknowledgement and celebration, or invocation and manifestation.

Lesbian marriages ScotlandThe Highlands and North of Scotland where I live are just gorgeous and I feel very fortunate to live where I do at Findhorn on the coast about twenty five miles east of Inverness, and seventy five miles north west of Aberdeen. We have amazing castles and beaches and mansion houses in this area for intimate or large wedding gatherings, and I love being an occasional Wedding Planner and helping wedding parties sort out logistics such as where to stay and what to eat, where to have the ceremony and reception, as well as officiating and creating ceremonies.

My partner and fellow Minister Will and I enjoy working together and offer couples wedding packages (which can include some or all of - the ceremony, the organisation, the photography and a DVD).

If we can tempt you to come to Scotland you can take the sleeper train or fly up and feel like you're going abroad but without the hassle or too much stress!

Imagine snuggling up and toasting your toes in front of a real log fire whilst sipping a wee dram of whisky whilst the wind and snow whistle past the window, and you're all cozy inside! Or getting warmed up in a four poster bed or hot-tub?

Or what about having a ceremony in a small and intimate candle lit chapel, or on the beach as the sun begins to go down with snow capped mountains in the distance?

Gay ceremoniesYou could take a champagne cruise up Loch Ness whilst someone else prepared a meal for your celebrations - fabulous food like Scottish salmon, or local venison or cheeses? Or more traditionally haggis, neeps and tatties?

What about donning tartan and having a knees up with a Ceilidh (pronounced Caley) with a live band or disco, and fireworks at the end of your evening?

Scotland is a very special place to visit and I have a network of warm and friendly suppliers for all your needs - if I can help you with your visit please give me a call for a no obligation chat - I would love to help you make your dreams come true. Or if you live locally and have any ceremony or support needs you now know of another option available to you.
